Position : Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS) promoted by Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) and supported by the Ministry of Mines, is a body set up through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). SCMS is registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 as a Not for Profit company. MSDE in its notification dated 17th March 2015 has authorised SCMS as a non-statutory skill certification agency. CEO-SCMS is designated as Joint Apprentice Advisor (JAA) for Optional Trades vide MSDE notification no MSDE-01/(3)/2018 AP(PMU) dated 12 September 2018.
SCMS is mandated to train and meet the requirement of a skilled workforce for the mining industries, develop Qualification Files (QFs) and National Occupational Standards (NOS) aligned to the needs of the mining industry in line with the National Skills Qualification Framework, conduct Skill Gap Studies in the Mining Sector, etc. SCMS is also recognized as an Awarding Body by NCVET, under the aegis of MSDE.
SCMS currently seeks applications from eligible competent persons with adequate mining experience/background for its vacant post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
